Our Sustainability Story
When it comes to sustainability – it’s our history, our legacy and our story. For generations, we’ve done things this way because it was the right way to do them. We’re happy to share our Sustainability story.
About Us
Westervelt Lumber, a division of The Westervelt Company’s Wood Products division, continues to deliver on our promise of exceptional value to our customers.
We are proud of our history and our strong relationships we’ve formed with partners and customers over the years. Providing high quality lumber is what we do best, but what sets up apart is our dedicated, personal customer service.
Our wood products manufacturing is closely tied with our land stewardship commitment. We use only sustainably sourced wood from our own land and other privately held land to ensure we are responsibly managing our natural resources.
With more than 50 years of lumber manufacturing experience, Westervelt Lumber produces a wide variety of high-performance products made from Southern yellow pine for customers in both domestic and international markets.
We are committed to providing some of the highest-quality, environmentally-responsible products and services available.
Our Facilities
Moundville
Our flagship lumber mill is located in Moundville, Ala., strategically located to take advantage of our own forests. We have a strong relationship with our partners throughout the region to help us ensure that provide the highest quality, sustainably sourced products possible.
The mill opened in 1997 and is one of the largest producers of Southern yellow pine lumber. We are fortunate to be an integral part of the economic structure in Hale County, where many of our employees and their families call home.
Thomasville
The Thomasville Mill joined Westervelt Lumber in 2021. The state of the art facility blends a safe environment with sustainable operations to provide quality products across the U.S. Our partnership with Clarke County and Thomasville has been strong from the beginning, as we have connected with the local community in multiple, meaningful ways.
